InterD Conference Panel Discussion

We are involved in a panel discussion discussing the importance of Indigenous content or Native Studies in University programs, and why there should be a Native Studies course requirement for all students enrolled in either undergraduate, graduate, or certificate programs at the University of Alberta. The NSCR petition will launch at this event.

Session 4a: Mandatory Indigenous Content (Quetzala Carson, Estephanie Henriquez, Samantha Roan, Michelle Meyers, Quetzala Carson, Ambrose Cardinal Dubitski, and Dylan Lightbourn from Native Studies Student Association of the University of Alberta)

We acknowledge that the University of Alberta resides on Treaty 6 Territory. We would also like to acknowledge that this landscape was traditionally Blackfoot, Cree, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Saulteaux, and Métis Nation territory. Furthermore, we specifically acknowledge the ancestral space of the Papaschase Cree. We aim to construct relationships at the University that incorporate, respect, and honor this sacred relationship of Treaty and belonging.
